Data Warehousing
Our Data Warehousing solutions are used to consolidate
premium and loss information including direct, assumed, ceded and net. Analysis
of data is available by Profit Centers (Branch Offices, Issuing Companies,
Underwriting Divisions), Products and Sources of Business (Agents,
Sub-producers). For our clients, we built custom Data Warehousing solutions or
installed and interfaced packages such as Millbrook’s Beacon, Thazar,
Business Objects and Cognos.
Case Study 1
We designed and implemented a data warehouse using data from several Major
Insurance Systems. We utilized data cleansing to ensure consistent, error-free
data. The data warehouse supported ad-hoc data selection, multiple reporting
formats and a choice of output type. Data manipulation occurred on the AS/400
with end-user reporting provided using Crystal Reports on a Microsoft SQL
Server.
Case Study 2
We developed and implemented a data warehouse to assist an actuarial department
with analysis of profitability of accounts, pricing and reserving. On a monthly
basis, extract files are created and fed into the Actuarial Reporting System.
This process utilizes data cleansing and specialized calculations such as
earned premium based on client requirements. Systems include ad-hoc Calendar
Year reporting for both premium and losses. Data is made available as a printed
report, an Excel spreadsheet or an Access database.
